Job Summary
The Service Desk Associate plays a key role in service desk administration, membership sales, and maintaining the cleanliness of the facility and equipment. This role provides excellent customer service to members, guests, and staff, fostering positive relationships at all times.
Essential Job Functions
Greet members and guests warmly on arrival and departure
Monitor club access for members and non-members
Handle member and guest questions and complaints professionally
Answer phone calls and provide information to prospective members
Conduct tours for prospective members
Sell memberships, process agreements, and enter member data
Operate the Point-of-Sale system and collect overdue payments
Organize and maintain the customer service front desk
Schedule fitness training appointments
Complete Club Walk-Arounds every 20 minutes and fill out checklists
Assist new employees with questions and guidance
Perform start and end-of-shift procedures
Conduct clubhouse housekeeping, including:
Cleaning equipment and areas under equipment
Cleaning hydromassage beds, benches, showers, lockers, toilets, sinks, mirrors, and more
Dusting vents and wiping down tile, walls, and doors
Vacuuming and mopping floors
Replenishing supplies such as toilet paper and soap
Emptying trash and maintaining cleaning supply organization
Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Perform additional duties as assigned
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred
Previous cleaning or maintenance experience preferred
Basic computer literacy required
Skills & Abilities
Excellent communication, phone, and interpersonal skills
Ability to clearly explain the Judgment Free Zone concept
Accuracy with handling numbers
Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
Positive attitude and willingness to assist others
Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations
Willingness to learn from mistakes
Physical Environment & Requirements
Work primarily indoors with normal exposure to light, sound, heat, and cold
Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, grasping, and reaching
Frequent moving, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 60 lbs
Ability to operate equipment like vacuums and floor scrubbers
Exposure to standard cleaning fluids and chemicals
Ability to observe and respond to behaviors in the environment
Clear communication and information exchange skills
