Position Summary
The Store Operations Manager in Training assists in maintaining a clean, organized, and customer-centric store atmosphere, working closely with the Store Manager. Duties include supporting store operations, supervising staff, ensuring effective product presentation, managing cash transactions, and contributing to profitability while protecting company assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure top-notch customer care by welcoming visitors, addressing their needs, and processing payments.
- Ensure the store is opened and closed at least two days every week.
- Aid in coordinating employee work schedules, integrating new team members, delivering training sessions, and enforcing policy compliance.
- Adhere to company standards while unboxing, managing, refreshing, and reorganizing products.
- Provide support for organizing products in an appealing manner, executing planogram layouts, and building attractive displays.
- Ensure inventory correctness by minimizing damages, markdowns, and errors during scanning processes.
- Ensure financial trustworthiness by emphasizing cashier accountability, regulating key usage, and overseeing cash operations.
- Sanction reimbursements, approve exceptions, audit cash registers, and conduct financial deposits.
- Fill in for the Store Manager in managing the daily functions of the store.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
- Exceptional communication and people skills
- Displaying adept problem-solving and organizational competencies
- Sound understanding of mathematical fundamentals like percentages and the ability to manage cash transactions are key competencies
- Capacity to interpret and make sense of operational records and safety protocols
- Familiarity with the guidelines concerning inventory and facility management policies
- Competence in utilizing POS systems and producing detailed reports
- Capability to utilize typical retail devices like hand-held scanners and box cutters effectively
Education and Experience:
- Having a high school diploma or a similar certification is highly preferred
- A year of retail experience is necessary
- Candidates with preferred supervisory experience of six months are encouraged to apply
Working Conditions
- Frequent involvement in activities such as walking, standing, bending, and kneeling
- Employing tools such as scanners, U-boats, and pricing guns on a regular basis
- Frequently required to lift items up to 40 pounds with occasional handling of loads up to 55 pounds
- Intermittent vertical movements reaching a maximum of 6 feet, employing ladders
- Engaging in a high-energy environment with a moderate amount of noise
- - There could be instances where one may need to drive their personal car for the purpose of bank deposits and attending meetings
