General Summary:

Tasked with overseeing the management of store personnel and coordinating the successful scheduling and implementation of store procedures which include purchasing, delivery, inventory management, product presentation, sales, staffing, and customer assistance.

Responsibilities and Key Job Requirements:

  • Source, screen, develop, and maintain competent workforce, ensuring alignment with federal and state labor legislations as well as internal company protocols.
  • Administer performance reviews, deliver counseling, and supervise recommendations for employee development and compensation.
  • Provide regular updates on performance, behavior, and safety guidelines; arrange meetings to enhance safety and security awareness.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels and manage the process of opening and closing the store (must personally oversee both tasks at least twice a week).
  • Examine financial reports to pinpoint shifts in sales, earnings, expenditures, losses, and inaccuracies.
  • Oversee the ordering process to meet or exceed in-stock objectives by evaluating ordering schedules, seasonal approaches, and inventory supervision weekly.
  • Aid in the streamlined process of arranging, replenishing, and storing products in alignment with company guidelines.
  • Maintain merchandise presentation in accordance with company expectations, emphasizing the correct utilization of fixtures, pricing details, and signage.
  • Maintain precise control over stock levels, prevent damage, track discounts, and document transactions effectively.
  • Monitor cashier reliability, key handling, security measures, and monetary processes to uphold financial accountability.
  • Head the customer service drive and ensure the store premises are clean, secure, and orderly.
  • Ensure that all required tools are available in the store to maximize task completion efficiency.
  • Uphold conformity with corporate guidelines, processes, and document criteria.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Capability to understand and analyze visual representations, safety regulations, operational directives, and procedural manuals.
  • Knowledgeable in elementary mathematics covering addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  • Familiarity with cash management, ensuring cashier responsibility, and establishing procedures for deposits is important.
  • Proficient in operating IBM cash registers and generating comprehensive reports.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of managing stock levels and presenting merchandise.
  • The capacity to communicate efficiently through speech and writing, as well as adept interpersonal skills, is crucial in various contexts.
  • Proficient in recruiting strategies, interviewing techniques, selection processes, performance counseling, and termination procedures in accordance with legal and internal guidelines.
  • It is important to be knowledgeable about the protocols for handling facility access, cash management, and safety measures, including the proper use of store keys and adherence to the SAFE program guidelines.
  • Strong focus on details and adept at organizing tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in addressing issues that are diverse and lack standardization.
  • Certain locations may show a preference for individuals who are able to speak both Spanish and English proficiently.

Work Experience and Education:

  • Having a high school diploma or similar qualification is strongly preferred.
  • Prior background in overseeing retail functions for at least one year is desired.

  • Lifting weights of up to 40 pounds is a common occurrence, with occasional tasks involving lifting objects that weigh up to 55 pounds.

  • Using personal transportation for bank errands and appointments.
  • Setting that offers a high-speed atmosphere coupled with moderate noise levels.
  • Periodic contact with the elements outdoors.
