Assistant Manager

Planet Fitness is hiring for Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager supports the Club Manager in overseeing gym operations to ensure a “Judgement Free” environment that enhances member experience and contributes to the financial success of the club.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high-performing team including Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.

• Ensure a welcoming and customer-focused environment for all members, guests, and prospects.

• Support staff management and provide backup leadership in the absence of the Club Manager.

• Help schedule and supervise staff to maintain operational efficiency.

• Monitor and uphold superior member service standards at all times.

• Address and escalate employee concerns or issues when needed.

Participate in front desk operations:

• Answer phone inquiries in a friendly manner.
• Check-in members and manage membership sign-ups.
• Provide tours to prospective members.
• Assist with member questions and requests.

• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.

• Help with supply ordering in alignment with the club’s budget.

• Track and report key club metrics (weekly, monthly, annually).

• Provide operational backup for absent staff.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Strong customer service skills, preferably in a fitness setting.

• Experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness is a plus.

• Proven ability in supervision, diplomacy, and listening.

• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).

• Energetic, enthusiastic, and hard-working demeanor.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

• Current CPR Certification required.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand and walk continuously during shifts.

• Frequent verbal communication, in-person and by phone.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

• May be exposed to toxic cleaning chemicals.
