General Summary:
Responsible for leading the team of store employees and ensuring the smooth running of store operations by planning and implementing processes like procurement, inventory control, product arrangement, sales activities, staffing, and customer care.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
- Recruit, hire, educate, and sustain capable staff while ensuring conformity with federal, state labor regulations, and corporate rules.
- Execute evaluations of performance, offer support, and handle recommendations for pay raises and career progress for employees.
- Frequently communicate performance, conduct, and safety requirements; schedule meetings to prioritize safety and security measures.
- Supervise staffing requirements and monitor the procedures for opening and closing the store (required to personally manage opening and closing duties at least twice per week).
- Review operational records to spot trends in revenue generation, financial performance, outlays, inventory discrepancies, and mistakes.
- Maintain ordering procedures to reach or surpass in-stock targets; review ordering strategies, seasonal tactics, and inventory supervision every week.
- Assist in ensuring the smooth staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise according to company protocols for enhanced efficiency.
- Ensure that the way products are showcased meets the established standards of the company, focusing on the appropriate deployment of fixtures, pricing information, and signage.
- Keep inventory records up to date, reduce losses from damages, track price markdowns, and maintain detailed documentation.
- Manage cashier accountability, key supervision, security techniques, and cash protocols to safeguard financial integrity.
- Lead the way in customer service endeavors while preserving a neat, secure, and structured store setting.
- Equip the store with the necessary instruments to facilitate the effective execution of tasks.
- Enforce compliance with company policies, protocols, and documentation standards.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
- Skill in interpreting and making sense of charts, guidelines for safety, operational instructions, and manuals outlining procedures.
- Competent in basic math skills, which include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentage calculations.
- Proficiency in cash handling, maintaining cashier reliability, and enforcing deposit regulations is crucial.
- Competence in using IBM cash register functionalities and producing analytical reports.
- Sound familiarity with inventory supervision and retail presentation.
- Effective verbal and written communication, combined with interpersonal capabilities, is a fundamental skill set for successful interaction.
- Capable in the areas of recruitment, interviewing, hiring procedures, advising employees, and managing terminations with a focus on compliance with legal and internal protocols.
- Having familiarity with the procedures for facility, cash, and safety control policies, which include the management of store keys and compliance with the SAFE program, is essential.
- Known for being detail-oriented and having exceptional organizational capabilities.
- Displaying effective problem-solving skills in varied and unconventional scenarios.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English languages could be considered favorable in particular regions.
Employment History and Educational Background:
- Strong preference is given to candidates with a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- One year of experience in a retail management role is preferred.
