Position Summary
The Director of FP&A is responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function, driving strategic initiatives, and delivering insightful analysis to support executive-level decision-making. This role collaborates closely with the CFO and senior leadership to develop financial forecasts, budgets, and reports that inform overall business strategy and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis
Lead the company’s annual budgeting process and develop long-term financial plans.
Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling to assess potential business impacts.
Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and new business opportunities.
Reporting and Performance Measurement
Prepare and present financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.
Develop monthly reports for shareholder and board review.
Analyze variances between budgeted and actual results, offering actionable insights to business units.
Financial Strategy and Leadership
Conduct regular financial reviews with department heads to ensure goal alignment and accountability.
Mentor and develop the FP&A team, supporting executives and operations with relevant analytics.
Collaborate with various departments including Accounting, Payroll, Development, Marketing, and Operations.
Data Analysis and Insights
Utilize financial data and market trends to generate actionable insights for financial performance improvement.
Implement financial modeling to assist decision-making and strategic planning.
Process Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Support implementation of financial systems and tools to streamline FP&A workflows.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or certifications such as CFA or CPA preferred.
7+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis; experience in the fitness industry is a plus.
Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data.
Effective communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
Proficient with financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with FP&A business intelligence systems such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
