Position Summary
The Store Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in upholding a tidy, efficiently arranged, and customer-centric retail space. Operating under the guidance of the Store Manager, this position assists in managing store activities, overseeing staff, guaranteeing appropriate product display, managing financial transactions and documentation, and contributing to enhancing revenue while safeguarding company resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer support by welcoming patrons, addressing inquiries, and managing cash transactions.
- Operate and shut down the store at least twice a week.
- Provide support with arranging staff shifts, orientation processes, educational sessions, and adherence to company regulations.
- Follow company guidelines to unpack, organize, replenish, and shift inventory as required.
- Aid in showcasing products effectively, executing planograms, and constructing attractive displays.
- Enhance inventory precision by reducing instances of damage, markdowns, and scanning discrepancies.
- Promote financial transparency by encouraging cashier responsibility, monitoring key access, and overseeing cash management.
- Approve reimbursements, handle exceptions, balance cash drawers, and deposit funds at financial institutions.
- Assume responsibility for running store activities when the Store Manager is not available.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
- Outstanding abilities in communicating effectively and building relationships
- Demonstrating robust skills in addressing issues and managing tasks effectively
- Proficiency in fundamental mathematical concepts such as percentages and the handling of monetary transactions is essential
- Proficiency in comprehending and deciphering operational papers and safety protocols
- Understanding the policies related to managing inventory and controlling facilities
- Proficiency in point-of-sale software and creating analytic summaries
- Proficiency in using common retail tools such as handheld scanners and box cutters
Education and Experience:
- It is highly recommended to have a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification
- At least one year of retail background is required
- It is preferred to have six months of prior supervisory experience
Working Conditions
- Regularly walking, standing, bending, and kneeling are common activities
- Frequent utilization of tools such as scanners, U-boats, and pricing guns
- Frequently lifting weights up to 40 pounds and occasionally handling loads up to 55 pounds
- Intermittent ascents of up to 6 feet by utilizing ladders
- Experiencing a dynamic atmosphere with moderate levels of noise
