General Summary:
In charge of supervising all retail staff and ensuring efficient organization and implementation of store operations such as purchasing, inventory management, product display, sales, staffing, and customer service.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
- Attracting, choosing, educating, and keeping skilled staff members, guaranteeing adherence to national and local employment regulations and organizational guidelines.
- Carry out performance assessments, offer guidance, and oversee staff progression and salary suggestions.
- Consistently articulate performance, behavior, and safety standards; organize gatherings that advocate for safety and protection.
- Guarantee appropriate personnel levels and supervise store opening and closing protocols (required to personally oversee openings and closings at least two times per week).
- Evaluate income statements to detect patterns in revenue, profitability, costs, inventory loss, and discrepancies.
- Ensure that ordering is managed effectively to achieve or surpass in-stock goals; regularly assess ordering strategies, seasonal tactics, and inventory control on a weekly basis.
- Support the effective organization of goods through adherence to established company procedures for staging, stocking, and storage.
- Make sure that the display of products adheres to the company's guidelines, such as using fixtures, pricing, and signs correctly.
- Ensure precise inventory management, minimize damages, monitor markdowns, and keep thorough records.
- Supervise cashier responsibility, key management, security protocols, and cash operations for maintaining financial honesty.
- Take charge of customer service initiatives and uphold a tidy, secure, and well-managed retail space.
- Make sure the store is adequately furnished with essential equipment to efficiently carry out tasks.
- Ensure adherence to organizational regulations, protocols, and record-keeping stipulations.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in comprehending and deciphering diagrams, safety protocols, operation guides, and instructional handbooks.
- Skilled in fundamental arithmetic operations like adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing, as well as working with percentages.
- Understanding how to handle cash, maintain accountability as a cashier, and implement controls for deposits is essential.
- Familiarity with utilizing IBM cash register features and creating detailed reports.
- Proficient grasp of inventory control and product display strategies.
- Proficiency in verbal and written interactions, along with strong interpersonal abilities, are essential for effective communication.
- Experienced in the recruitment process, conducting interviews, making hiring decisions, providing guidance, and handling terminations while adhering to both legal and internal regulations.
- Understanding the policies regarding facility, cash, and safety control, such as the management of store keys and participation in the SAFE program, is crucial.
- Possessing a meticulous approach with excellent organizational abilities.
- Demonstrating adeptness in resolving challenges across a range of non-conventional contexts.
- In specific areas, bilingual individuals who speak Spanish and English fluently might receive advantageous treatment.
Work Experience and Education:
- A high school diploma or its equivalent is highly recommended.
- Previous experience in managing retail operations for a minimum of one year is advantageous.
