Role and Responsibilities:

The Sales Associate plays a critical role as the first point of contact for customers. This position focuses on customer satisfaction, sales support, merchandising, and store cleanliness, all while supporting daily store operations.

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers throughout the store.
• Operate the cash register and scanner to itemize purchases, process payments, issue receipts, and bag merchandise.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and offer product recommendations as needed.
• Stock and restock merchandise on store shelves according to company guidelines.
• Build and maintain organized, attractive merchandise displays.
• Clean and maintain store appearance, including floors, restrooms, receiving areas, and trash removal.
• Set up and manage sidewalk displays as directed by the Store Manager.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with customers and team members.
• Understanding of safety protocols and store procedures.
• Ability to read planograms and follow merchandise presentation guides.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling and math skills.
• Ability to operate a point-of-sale system and other retail equipment.
• Efficiently stock and rotate merchandise in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Frequent walking and standing during shifts.
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting merchandise up to 40 pounds (occasionally up to 55 pounds).
• Use of equipment including handheld scanners, pricing tools, box cutters, U-boats, and rolltainers.
• Occasional climbing of step ladders up to six feet.
• Exposure to moderate noise and occasional outdoor weather conditions.
